Crossover character avatars?

Now this is highly risky, so I'll just put some draft rules here:

Crossover characters, Y/N?

Risky as this is, in the interest of adding spice to action, I might allow some on a highly conditional basis:

• The character has a proper history written out. Don't assume we know the universe the character came from, elaborate on them.
  
• Don't expect crossover abilities to be kept. Accel World is quite strict - perhaps unforgiveably so - for all new characters. We're also starting from Level 1 here, so the skillset must comply with existing rules.
  
• Prepare for a pallete swap. The colour system in Accel World is not necessarily compatible with the colour of the original character.

Any thoughts?

I'm fully aware of some of the usual crossovers: Megaman, SAO, Kamen Rider, and some of the Marvel Universe crossovers. These are unlikely to get through.

What I'm looking for is the unusual crossovers: what if you put Lucy from Elfen Lied into Brain Burst? Or Academy City is actually a legit location in Accelerated World, and their 'bodies' are already duel avatars? And how badass would Light Yagami do his work with a Shinigami assisting him?

It's just a thought, so do give your feedback and ideas.

References and such are okay, but I'd like them to stay as just such.

I am also not a fan of this idea.

I would encourage people to take elements of characters they like and incorporate them in their own designs (I made my duel avatar use puppets like the puppet-jutsu users in Naruto), but straight up ripping off a character is sort of lazy and ruins the flavour of Accel World, which at the end of the day, is why we're all here.

I echo the opinions of the above, specifically Bunt. This just seems like it would degrade the quality of roleplay.

Isn't a character port being a crossover..? <_<

I think character posts were included in Tusjecht's idea.
Personally, I prefer that everyone goes with an original character. I've never been fond of when someone takes up an already existing personnage ( unless it is their creation ) It looks like there's a lack of creativity to my eyes.
On my part, It's a no on using already existing character or making crossovers. Making referances or using faceclaims still passes though.
